Apparent race condition in psycopg2

There's a report at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=711095 of an apparent race condition in psycopg2: it neglects to increment a refcount while waiting for a query to execute, which means that a python garbage collection in another thread can cause a crash. Or at least that's Dave Malcolm's theory of what's happening. I'd appreciate your opinion on it. (If you can, please either add a comment to that bugzilla entry, or reply to me by email.)
